Is Conversational hypnosis just a western culture fad, or is it a worldwide phenomenon?

May 18th, 2010

Is Conversational hypnosis just a western culture fad, or is it a worldwide phenomenon? Conversational Hypnosis is a modern name of a technique that has been in existence for more than a thousand years. Regardless of what modern or historic name that it may hold through the ages, the technique is the same, but the use has been much abused.

Needless to say, Conversational hypnosis, for lack of a better name, is a technique that was developed to help out the needy. These needy were the sick, the dying, and those in pain. The priests, who developed this treatment, needed something to soothe the patients who could no longer be helped by the known conventional treatments that were available during those times. Remember, these were in the days of the Greek philosophers and medicine was in its infancy. No one really knew what these priests were doing and, just like any uneducated guess, the conclusions that were eventually reached were based on Myth conceptions: magic and sorcery.

Anything that people could not explain were blamed on these much abused words. Unfortunately, these hypnotic words, so to speak, stuck. Unfortunately for the technique, it worked to a certain extent. Unfortunate too is the fact that con men saw the applicability of the technique in other environs aside from medicine: business being the forefront of them all.

A lot of business strategists have been developed to increase sales, and some have actually managed to make ‘hypnosis’ as part of that strategy. The claims are hypothetical, but they are also proven, up to a certain extent. With the success of the new technique, more and more ‘desperate to financially succeed’ are taking seminars to learn and apply to their profession successfully, or so they claim.

With these claims of success, the fad grew. So, is Conversational hypnosis just a western culture fad after all? Is this ‘Conversational hypnosis’ claiming the fame of overnight millionaires? Just like a fad, people have a tendency to go all out in order to have a taste of what was unreachable. And just like any western fad, it has spread its web and has lured so many cultures into doing the same thing. Unsupported claims are flying all over the place, and it is really up to you if you are going to join the lure of Conversational hypnosis-based success.

A Very Brief History of Conversational Hypnosis and Its Spread in Middle East

May 18th, 2010

The written history has revealed that priests developed some sort of medical treatment for patients who could not be healed by conventional methods. These priests were successful in relieving the symptoms of the sick, the dying, and those who were in pain, but they were not successful in curing the illness itself. The documents from ancient cultures as well as civilizations further described the methods to be sorcery and magic.

The history of conversational hypnosis and its spread in middle east countries find proof in ancient texts from the ancient Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, Indians, Chinese, Persians and Sumerians describe of altered states, of the sick going into trances and were open to suggestions given by their healers, descriptions of what is now otherwise called ‘conversational hypnosis.’

The history of conversational hypnosis and its spread in Middle East countries are well documented in ancient texts which speak of ancient knowledge. One starts to wonder at these revelations as that would mean that the millennia old ancient texts that we study today is actually talking about something much older, probably more than 6,000 years ago. With such claims, it would mean that this technique has been around and practiced to as far back as Prehistoric times, the time of the cave men.Further researches have actually now formed conclusions that some prehistoric cave drawings and paintings actually talk about dream states, or conversational hypnosis.

Just how that is possible boggles the mind. Can something as old as time itself actually is a technique that actually works? It must work as according to historical records, the priests were labelled as magicians and sorcerers as they were successful in the treatment of patients who were no longer treatable. The Mediterranean and the Middle East both laid foundations on science as we know it today, including medicine, and psychotherapy.

History of hypnosis and its spread in the Middle East is of course easy to understand and to imagine. Despite the fact that there are very little known facts about conversational hypnosis itself, it is well established that the known world did in fact communicate with each other. How else spices could have been spread, how else could ideas from China reach Europe, how else could one hold on to gossip and keep it a secret?

Making the Ad Work: Using Conversational Hypnosis in Designing Your Advertisements

May 18th, 2010

Advertising campaigns are getting more and more competitive every day and the advertisers are getting meaner in their need to succeed. Using conversational hypnosis in designing your advertisements is one technique that graduates of the NLP seminars have successfully integrated into their professions.

Conversational hypnosis is simply a technique in using words that will suggest ideas into the minds of the listeners. For example, words like baby, silky feel, and smooth leather are words that evoke several patterns of thoughts, but when used to advertise a car, the whole message changes and the listener could actually get lost in another world where fantasies in owning a Jaguar, for example, is recalled. For a moment, the listener is not in the present, they are lost in their memories.

Using conversational hypnosis in designing your advertisements is a technique that is much used and abused. Some people are very gullible that they even use these advertisements as excuses for their inappropriate spending. Some use this as an excuse of getting lost in memories that the only thing to do is to buy something that is not needed, and actually justify themselves by making up excuses for imagined needs.

It is wholly dependent on the listener, however, and not the ad designer. Yes, the designers manipulate to some extent the viewers and the listeners on the receiving end, but the fact remains the final choices are made by the receivers. There was no arm twisting involved. There were subtle suggestions that were reinforced through advertising campaigns, and it is up to the consumer to become lost in the suggestions.

The undeniable success in using conversational hypnosis in designing your advertisements can be the reason why there are more and more professionals who take the NLP courses. The success of the graduates who apply their learned techniques are increasing. Manipulation or simple suggestion, it really depends on how it is received by the listener.

Hypnosis In Writing Effective Press Releases

Trouble shooters using conversational hypnosis in writing effective press releases are very effective in ironing out messy situations that can get out of control. Conversational hypnosis is really a very simple technique, if one knows how to use it effectively. Knowing the words do not make the technique, where, how and when to use them is the trick.

Conversational hypnosis is altering a person’s state of consciousness by taking them someplace else other than where they pleasantly are. As an example, just for a few moments, think about the times when you were in the kitchen with your family and your were having a fun time.

Did you remember the times? Are you reading this article again?

You were for just a moment given a suggestion to happy days with your family in the kitchen, just for a moment you were not reading this article as you were lost with your memories. This is the power of conversational hypnosis that can be used and abused in so many ways.

There are those who are using conversational hypnosis in writing effective press releases. This is what is commonly called ‘diversionary tactics’. It is an old trick with a new name. The technique involves the diversion of the reader from thinking about a disturbing piece of news, into something else that is not related and is of a happier scenario. It can be disturbing as some would use conversational hypnosis as a term that actually means diversion and manipulation.

Does it work? Definitely. There are people who are very gullible in the hands of a master manipulator and which is actually what makes the whole business of hypnosis repugnant to some cultures and ideals. If only these techniques were used positively instead of something else, like covering the tracks of a high profile cheating governor by using conversational hypnosis in writing effective press releases. And the governor gets off the hook.
